Our students learn much more than physical skills through their participation in sports. The collaborative experience of pursuing and attaining a common goal in athletics is unique, as it is combined with interscholastic competition. We are proud of our winning tradition.
Through this experience, our students are able to develop courage as they take risks, strength while displaying finesse, competitive intensity while exhibiting generosity of spirit, and mental as well as physical endurance.

MGSSS believes that sports and games curriculum is an integral and compulsory part of the education process. Sports help to build character and teach the importance of discipline in life. Our state- of- the art sports facilities include an indoor game like, Shooting, Gatka, Skating, Taekwondo, Outdoor games like Cricket, Volleyball, Handball, etc.
There are separate coaches for each game. Every kind of training is given for sports
Sports Planet: The Sports Planet, a state-of-the-art multi-purpose indoor sports complex has facilities for almost all indoor games. The multi-discipline complex boasts of having the following play area:
- 1 Cricket Ground
- 2 Volleyball Court
- Taekwondo / Karate Hall
- Yoga Room
MGSSS cricket field is a large grassy ground on which the game of cricket is played. There are no fixed dimensions for the field but its diameter usually varies between 450 feet (137 m) and 500 feet (150 m). Cricket is unusual among major sports (along with Golf, Australia rule football and baseball) in that there is no official rule for a fixed-shape ground for professional games.
On most grounds, a rope demarcates the perimeter of the field and is known as the boundary. Within the boundary and generally as close to the centre as possible will be the square which is an area of carefully prepared grass upon which cricket pitches can be prepared and marked for matches.
Volleyball: It is a popular team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized rules.
Skating: It involves any sports or recreational activity which consists of traveling on surfaces or on ice using skates.
Carrom- It is a cue sport-based tabletop game of South Asia origin. The game is very popular in India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and surrounding areas, and is known by various names in different languages. In South Asia, many clubs and cafes hold regular tournaments. Carrom is very commonly played by families, including children, and at social functions
Chess Chess is a reflection of life creatively engaged and for the creative mind, it is more than a game of conquest, conflict and competitive skill. The school has adequate no. of chess boards to satisfy the playing instinct of the geniuses.
Handball- A team game handball is another popular sport with the students. The school has a full-fledged indoor/outdoor handball court well -equipped with nets and other facilities.
Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India . Yoga is one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophical. There is a broad variety of yoga schools, practices, and goals in Hinduism,Buddhism and Jainism. The term “yoga” in the Western world often denotes a modern form of Hatha yoga , consisting largely of the postures called asanas.
Martial Art- Martial arts are codified systems and traditions of combat practiced for a number of reasons such as Self-Defense,Military and Law Enforcement applications, Competition, physical, mental and spiritual development; as well as entertainment and the preservation of a nation’s intangible cultural heritage.

Darshan Singh is a Certified Sports Trainer, Certified Personal Trainer, and Health and Safety Specialist offering a strong background in injury care, prevention, rehabilitation, health promotion, and wellness. John has an enduring passion for continuous education and has intentionally engaged in various work experiences for a well-rounded scope on healthcare. John’s primary interests include nutrition and bio-mechanics, with a concentrated focus on improving performance.
